Description
The Martindale fabric abrasion testing machine is designed to determine the abrasion resistance of textile fabrics. Fabric of all types, including the types used
in shoe industry, may be tested by this method, including woven, non-woven,
and knit apparel fabrics, household fabrics, industrial fabrics, and floor
coverings, abrasion resistance is measured by subjecting the specimen to a
rubbing motion in the form of a geomantic figure. Résistance to abrasion is
evaluated by various means, including comparison to visual aids in the form
of photographs or actual samples.
